Volodymyr Chorny's exhibition opened at NAOMA!
The exhibition of Volodymyr Chornyi has opened at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture!
The empty halls gradually filled with visitors and came to life with quiet conversations.Solemn speeches were delivered in honor of Volodymyr.Everything was stilled by a moment of silence in memory of the fallen Heroes.
Layer by layer, Chornyi is revealed — as a graphic artist, in his metaphorical, story-rich works; in his vision that unveils the beauty and philosophy of form.As a set designer, whose skilled hands shaped the visual world of films like Pamfir, The Gateway, Iron Butterflies, and Lethal Kittens (Nashi Kotyky). As Senior Sergeant “Kara” — Volodymyr’s call sign — who, from the zero line, wrote short stories to his friends, capturing the reality he lived in.A QR code offers access to photos and videos.
There were deep reflections, meaningful discussions.Come and explore the 20-year-old “mummified model,” contemplate the fluid nature of emotions, discover Chornyi’s truth — and perhaps your own.
On November 4 at 16:00, join us for a screening of Iron Butterflies,a film about the investigation into the downing of MH17.
It’s best to arrive early to have time to view the artworks and read the stories.
The exhibition runs through November 10 in the exhibition hall of NAOMA: Kyiv, Voznesenskyi Uzviz 20
We look forward to seeing you. Closed on Sundays.
