ВІдкриття виставки в дитячій академії мистецтв імені Чимберджі
In February, an exhibition of Volodymyr Chornyi's work opened at the Chimberdzhi Children's Academy of Arts. The children prepared an artistic, sensitive dance in Volodymyr's honor and a poignant violin performance.
From Nataliia Halagan's publication:
...But this time it was a special exhibition, as it displayed the works of set designer Volodymyr Chornyi. He died on May 9, 2023, in battle with Russian invaders. He went as a volunteer even though his documents were lost at the military enlistment office. Volodymyr was a participant in Maidan, and it is all the more significant that I am writing this post today – on the anniversary of the "Peaceful Offensive," and then the Revolution of Dignity happened. Each such loss further deepens the pain of the Ukrainian people's loss. I have a favorite song by the band Kozak System, "Ukrainian Sun," where these words are sung:
So much has been lost,
Paid for dearly.
We will not forgive them.
P.S. A peculiarity of our realities: the exhibition opening took place in a bomb shelter due to an air raid alert, where Ms. Olena Biletska spoke about the artist's work.
