Alley and stamps in honor of the Hero

Olena Biletska

Mar 27, 2025

In Kropyvnytskyi, an alley was planted and a stamp was issued in memory of the soldier Volodymyr Chorny

A blossoming alley of trees and shrubs has been planted in the Kropyvnytskyi Dendrological Park.

The event also featured the cancellation of a commemorative stamp and postcard featuring the artist’s paintings.A full set is now also available at the local Regional Museum of Local Lore.

This is now a tribute to the memory of artist and warrior Volodymyr Chornyi — and also a story about humanity and the kind hearts of local residents who, each in their own way, helped make this event possible.

The trunks of magnolias will grow strong, the shoots of hydrangeas will bloom, and the small juniper and lavender bushes will reach for the sun, filling the air with the scent of summer and peace.

This is what Volodymyr’s mother, Liudmyla, wished — to honor her son’s life journey through the flourishing of life itself.

Heartfelt thanks from Volodymyr’s family to:

  • Kropyvnytskyi Dendrological Park for placing this living tribute to a Hero

  • The Paradise Garden Center for providing the plants and planting the alley

  • Borys Shevchenko and the Central Ukrainian Regional Museum of Local Lore for their openness and assistance
